In a surprise post shared on August 13, just ahead of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, Papa Johns Pakistan addressed the country with an emotional farewell, saying it had been an honour to serve Pakistani customers but was “sad to say goodbye.”
The message, signed off as “Apka Apna Papa Johns Pakistan,” immediately triggered speculation about the future of the international pizza chain in Pakistan.
The biggest question now gripping customers is simple: Is Papa Johns leaving Pakistan? The company, however, has not provided an answer.
The announcement does not clarify whether the chain is preparing to shut its restaurants nationwide, withdraw from the Pakistani market, restructure its local operations or unveil another major change.
As of now the social handles and official site remains fully operational. Customers can still browse the menu, place online orders, use the rewards programme and locate restaurants through the website.
The international brand also continues to list Pakistan among its Asian markets, suggesting that an immediate market exit has not been officially confirmed.

Papa Johns opened its first outlet in Lahore 7years back. The local operation is run through PJ Crescent Limited, headed by British-Pakistani entrepreneur Raheel Choudhary, with the original master franchise agreement reportedly covering development of up to 45 outlets.
The chain later expanded into major cities including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sargodha and Sialkot.
