Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) president Ayaz Latif Palijo has said that Pakistan is caught amid conspiracy by the international imperialist forces and that the rulers should come to their senses because the country could not afford any chaos at this stage.
In a statement issued on Saturday, he said India wanted terrorism and chaos in Pakistan because policies of Narendra Modi were aimed at destabilising the region.
The issues of India-held Kashmir and economic crisis of Pakistan were bigger challenges, he said, adding that the rulers should desist from promoting hatred.
He said the federal government was once again promoting “terrorists” known for producing bodies in gunny bags.
He said that peace was restored in Karachi after it was cleared of terrorism by the Rangers, police and politicians.
Palijo said that innocent people were once again being left at the mercy of terrorists like in the regimes of Zia and Musharraf.
He said that country’s interests were more important than political ambitions. Peace in Karachi was being destroyed, he said, adding that under Article 149, the federal government could issue some directive to the provincial administration in case of some crises, but it could not form committees by invoking this article in any city of the province.
He said if the federal government or anyone else tried to divide provinces, Article 6 would have to be invoked.
The QAT chief said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) had always been part of power and it had ruined Karachi and other cities through corruption.
He said the QAT would not allow politics based on hatred. Sindh belonged to Sindhis, he said in categorical terms.
