UAE envoy lauds Pakistan Observer’s role, efforts for resolution of conflicts, unity in Ummah

Zubair Qureshi

People of Palestine look towards the people of Pakistan as their brothers and sisters and greatly vale the diplomatic, political and moral support the government and the people of Pakistan are extending towards them in their hour of ordeal.

These views were expressed by Ambassador of Palestine H.E. Ahmed Jawad Amine Rabei during a meeting with Executive Editor of Pakistan Observer Gauhar Zahid Malik and CEO OTV Omer Malik who called on him on Monday to condole the loss of precious lives, women and children in the recent, unprovoked and brutal attacks by the Israeli forces in the holy month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak.

The Israeli forces launched aerial attacks on the innocent Palestinians killing more than 300 people including children and women, the ambassador said, and demanded from the international community, the UN, the US and the European Union (EU) to take notice of Israel’s war crimes against Palestinians.

About Prime Minister Imran Khan’s prompt response to the Israeli aggression, he said we are indebted to the Pakistan government and the people for offering support and taking up the issue at the United Nations (UN), OIC and all the other global forums through their overseas missions and the Foreign Office, said Ambassador Rabei.

He also spoke high of Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi for strongly advocating the Palestine cause at the international level.

Gauhar Zahid Malik on behalf of Pakistan Observer assured the Palestine ambassador that the newspaper would keep highlighting the plight of the innocent Muslim brothers and sisters of Palestine who have been facing gross violations of human rights (HR) for last six decades.

It is not simply an issue of the people of Palestine or a territorial dispute, rather it is question of justice and humanity and the world, particularly the international powers, the UN and the OIC should address it at the earliest, said Gauhar Malik.

Later in the day, in their meeting with H.E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Alzaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Gauhar Malik and Omer Malik commended the UAE role and efforts for resolution of the regional conflicts and for ceasefire in Palestine.

The UAE is playing an important role for the restoration of peace in Palestine, said Gauhar Malik in his meeting with Ambassador Hamad Alzaabi.

He said the OIC foreign ministers in their summit had adopted unanimous resolutions on the issue of Palestine that paved the way for a ceasefire in the region.

UAE Ambassador said Pakistan had a prominent place in the Islamic world and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts on the issue of Palestine.

About Pakistan Observer, he said the Daily has always been in the forefront making great efforts for unity of the Ummah and resolution of the conflicts.

While paying rich tributes to the late founder Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer, Zahid Malik, Ambassador of the UAE said he was a true friend of the Islamic world and his efforts in that regard would always be remembered.

He further said that the UAE government made all out efforts to ensure peace and normalization in Palestine and stood by Pakistan in its peace efforts.
