CENTURION – A video of a heated exchange between Pakistani batter Kamran Ghulam, South African wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne, and Kagiso Rabada went viral on the first day of the Boxing Day Test.
In the first Test of the series, being played in Centurion, Pakistan was bowled out for just 211 runs on day one. Kamran Ghulam was the top scorer for Pakistan, contributing 54 runs.
The altercation occurred when two individuals passed in front of the sight screen, prompted Kamran Ghulam to signal the bowler, Rabada, to wait.
This irked Rabada which caused a verbal spat between the two players.
Later, Kamran Ghulam also had an argument with South African wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne as both exchanged the sharp remarks. Shortly after, Kamran Ghulam lost his wicket.
It may be mentioned here that the cricketers from Australia, South Africa and England often use verbal jibes to put pressure on opponents and create opportunities for wickets.
