ISLAMABAD – Star Athlete Arshad Nadeem made hisotory at Olympics with massive Javelin throw of 92.97 metres to clinch Pakistan’s first track and field Gold, and now he will be accorded with second highest civilian award Hilal-e-Imtiaz.
Nadeem, who hailed from small village of Mian Channu, secured country’s first individual gold medal at Paris Olympics, and will be honored with the glittering medal. President Asif Zardari announced Hilal-e-Imtiaz for Arshad in a special ceremony.

President Asif Zardari showed praises on Arshad Nadeem for his exceptional achievement, which has brought great pride to the South Asian nation. President also hailed Nadeem’s extraordinary success and noted that his accomplishment has significantly enhanced Pakistan’s reputation in global sports.
Hilal-e-Imtiaz is Pakistan’s second-highest civilian award, given to both civilians and military personnel for exceptional contributions.
