Pakistan’s new bowling coach Shaun Tait to arrive on March 9

The newly appointed bowling coach for Pakistan, former Aussie pacer Shaun Tain, is due to arrive in Pakistan on March 9 after the conclusion of the first Test of the ongoing home series against Australia, it emerged Sunday.

After his arrival, Tait will quarantine himself and join the squad after completing three days in isola-tion.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had appointed the former Australian cricketer as the bowling coach for national squad for one year period last month.

Tait expressed joy over being appointed and said that Pakistan has several great fast bowlers and it’s a big responsibility to be a bowling coach for Pakistan. He further said that he can’t wait anymore to “avail myself of the opportunity to work with the Pakistan team.” Tait will be taking over his new position after a delay due to his father’s death. Shaun Tait had announced his retirement from all forms of the game in 2017 due to persistent elbow injuries. Tait had retired from first-class cricket in 2009 and one-day internationals in 2011. —AFP
