An emergency meeting of the Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP) general body was called online after the World Chess Federation (FIDE) management board has issued a warning letter to Pakistani officials to possibly suspend Pakistan.
The reason of the warning letter was that the CFP and FIDE nominated election commissioner, Mr. Saleem Akhtar was arrested by FIA and later released in an attempt to disrupt CFP elections to be held on 8th July in Islamabad under the joint supervision of FIDE observer Mr. John Cox.
