Pakistani singer and composer Arooj Aftab, who etched her name in history after being nominated as the first artist from South Asian to make it to the global stage, could not make it to Grammy at this year’s extravagant affair.

Despite losing the top prestigious award, the 37-year-old remained in limelight as the ace crooner performed with Indian singer Anoushka Shankar at the 2023 ceremony held in Los Angeles.

Creating magic with pensive vocals, Arooj becomes the first Pakistani to perform at Grammys – a major music award held annually.

Earlier, the singer took to her social media where she announced performing at the Grammys premiere ceremony. The ecstatic singer said she cannot wait to play ‘Udhero Na’ in LA.

Last year, the US-based singer becomes the first from Pakistan to bag a Grammy. She has on several occasions made the South Asian nation proud.
