ABU DHABI – Pakistan will introduce e-passports as the sole passport category for its citizens in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from July 20, the country’s diplomatic mission announced on Saturday.
The mission said that all passport applications submitted at Pakistan’s missions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be accepted only under the e-passport category from the effective date.
The mission clarified that existing machine-readable passports (MRPs) will remain valid until the end of their validity period and will continue to be accepted for travel.
It also confirmed that the online passport application facility for overseas Pakistanis will remain fully operational, enabling eligible citizens to apply for passport services from abroad without interruption.
