Pakistan thrashed Kuwait by 44 runs in the final to lift the Hong Kong Sixes at Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok on Sunday.
Batting first, Pakistan posted a competitive 135/3 in their quota of six overs.
Skipper Abbas Afridi was the top scorer for the Green shirts with 52 off just 11 balls, laced with two fours and seven huge sixes. Abdul Samad contributed 42 off 13 balls, hitting two fours and five maximums.
Wicket-keeper batter Khawaja Nafay made 22 off six balls with the help of two fours and two maximums. Maaz Sadaqat contributed 10 off three balls with the help of one four and one maximum. Meet Bhavsar bagged all three wickets that fell in Pakistan’s innings.
Chasing a mammoth 136-run target for an unlikely victory, Kuwait were bundled out for 92 in 5.1 overs. Meet Bhavsar was the top scorer for Kuwait with 33 off 12 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes.
Adnan Idrees contributed 30 off eight balls, laced with five maximums. Skipper Yasin Patel made 14 off six balls with the help of two fours and one maximum.
Maaz Sadaqat bagged three wickets, while Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Shehzad and Abdul Samad took one wicket each. Abbas Afridi was named Player of the Match for his outstanding show with the bat and ball.
