Pakistan, Tajikistan agree to enhance parliamentary cooperation

Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli, Republic of Tajikstan along with Tajikistan Parliamentary delegation met Speaker Asad Qaiser on side-lines of the PAECO Conference held in Islamabad today.

Speaker Asad Qaiser said that there was a lot of opportunity for enhancing bilateral trade and promoting investment in both countries.

He remarked that parliamentary exchanges are important because they create linkages amongst policy makers for both the governments.

Asad Qaiser said that Parliaments of both countries enjoy unanimity of views on number of issues especially on Kashmir and Palestine at every international forum.

He remarked that parliaments of both countries can pursue realisation of vast opportunities to enhance bilateral trade and trade through ECO .

He also expressed his thankfulness to Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli, Republic of Tajikstan and its Parliamentary delegation for participating in the PAECO Conference.

He mentioned that people to people contacts, trade and connectivity can be enhanced between both the countries by establishing Air Links between Islamabad and Dushanbe.

Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli, Republic of Tajikstan expressed his gratitude for hospitality offered during 2nd PAECO conference in Islamabad.

He said that both countries enjoy bilateral relation based on commonality of religious and cultural ties.

He congratulated Speaker Asad Qaiser for combining ECO member states under the banner of PAECO to promote trade and connectivity among ECO.

He agreed that the frequent interaction between the political leadership of both the countries was depiction of excellent bilateral relations.

He also agreed for enhancing parliamentary interaction through Parliamentary friendship groups.
