Pakistan stands out as safest country for minorities: Governor

Head of the Implementation Commission for Protection of the Minorities’ Rights Dr Shoaib Suddle called on Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori on Wednesday at Governor house. The discussions encompassed various aspects of minority rights in Pakistan, touching upon crucial issues affecting these communities. During the meeting, Dr Shoaib briefed Governor Tessori on the fundamental actions taken by the Minority Rights Commission and provided insights into the state of minority rights in the country.

Governor Sindh, acknowledging the pivotal role played by minority communities in the establishment and progress of Pakistan, expressed a keen interest in understanding and addressing their concerns. Governor emphasized that the minority fraternity has contributed significantly to the nation’s foundation and economic advancement. He highlighted the importance of safeguarding the basic rights of individuals associated with any religion, stressing the need for mutual respect and understanding.

Kamran Khan Tessori reiterated that all minorities in Pakistan, including Christians, Hindus, and Sikhs, lead secure lives with complete religious freedom. He asserted that Pakistan stands out as one of the safest countries for minorities globally, with its constitution ensuring the protection of the fundamental rights of every individual, regardless of their religious affiliation. The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue collaborative efforts in promoting and protecting the rights of minorities in Pakistan.
