Pakistan has urged Japan to play a role in efforts to end India’s barbaric clampdown in occupied Kashmir.
The message was conveyed by President Dr Arif Alvi in his meeting with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo on Wednesday. Sharing details of the widespread human rights violations by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir, President Alvi urged the prime minister to be a part of international efforts to stop New Delhi’s brutalities.
The two leaders also held discussions on a range of bilateral issues. President Alvi emphasised the need for both countries to work together to enhance relations in trade, investment, human resource development, and people-to-people contact.
The president congratulated Abe on the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito, a ceremony that was attended by the president and first lady on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Abe thanked the president for attending the enthronement ceremony and said he was hopeful Pakistan and Japan’s ties would go from strength to strength over the coming years.
