ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s top leaders President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan, who arrived for a landmark two-day state visit.
As Jordanian King’s jet entered Pakistan, Pakistan Air Force JF-17 Thunder jets greeted mid-air by slicing through the sky, an honor reserved only for the closest of allies. The jets guided the royal flight with military precision all the way to the capital.
Upon landing at Nur Khan Airbase, the King received a ceremonial welcome of the highest order. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif personally welcomed the Jordanian leader, joined by senior cabinet members, First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
President Zardari declared the visit a “strategic turning point”, emphasizing that Pakistan and Jordan share a relationship built on brotherhood, trust, and centuries-old cultural bonds.
During his stay, King Abdullah II will hold crucial meetings with Pakistan’s top leadership, where the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation, from defense and security to trade, investment, and cultural exchange, will be on the table.
In a highly anticipated highlight, a special investiture ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr will honor the King with Pakistan’s highest civilian award, underscoring the significance of this powerful diplomatic moment.
This historic visit is expected to supercharge Pakistan–Jordan relations, opening doors to deeper political alignment, stronger economic partnerships.
