Pakistan reports 32 new deaths on first COVID-19 anniversary

ISLAMABAD – As many as thirty-two more people died of COVID-19 and 1,541 new cases reported across Pakistan during the past 24 hours.

According to the latest statistics, there are now 22285 active cases in the country while 542,393 patients have so far recovered from this disease.

Today marks one year since the South Asian country confirmed the first case of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) has decided to relax coronavirus restrictions that were put in place to contain the spread of pandemic COVID-19.
According to a statement issued by the NCOC, the time-limit from commercial activities and amusement parks has been lifted.

Indoor wedding ceremonies will be allowed from 15th March with stringent COVID-19 standard operating procedures in place.

Spectators’ attendance in the Pakistan Super League to be increased to 50 percent from the current 20%.

It said wearing face masks, social distancing, smart lockdowns will continue and will be ensured.
