ISLAMABAD – Pakistan received more than $763 million in foreign financial assistance, including loans, during July 2026, the first month of the current fiscal year, according to data released by the Economic Affairs Division.
The assistance comprised around $744.6 million in loans and $18.3 million in grants. In rupee terms, the total foreign inflows amounted to approximately Rs214.99 billion, including Rs209.88 billion in loans and Rs5.10 billion in grants.
The Economic Affairs Division reported that foreign assistance in July was 10 percent higher than the amount received in July 2025.
However, compared with June 2026, the inflows dropped sharply by 81 percent. Pakistan had received more than $4 billion in external assistance during June.
During July, bilateral partners provided approximately $19.6 million, while international institutions contributed around $252.8 million.
The government also raised approximately $343.9 million through the Naya Pakistan Certificate, classified as borrowing.
Among multilateral lenders, the World Bank provided $130 million, while the Asian Development Bank extended $59.1 million in loans during the month.
China provided Pakistan with around $146.6 million in guaranteed loans in July, according to the Economic Affairs Division’s report.
