KARACHI – Pakistan and India have exchanged Nuclear Installations Lists as per bilateral agreement.
In a statement, the Foreign Office said Pakistan officially handed over its list of nuclear installations to a representative of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In turn, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs provided India’s list of nuclear installations to a representative of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.
which was signed on December 31, 1988, mandates both countries to exchange details of their nuclear installations every year on January 1. This annual exchange aims to enhance transparency and prevent any attacks on nuclear sites.
As part of the process, the exchange has been taking place annually since 1992, after the agreement’s implementation on January 27, 1991. The continuous exchange of this sensitive information is seen as a positive step towards fostering nuclear transparency and reducing tensions between the two countries.
