ISLAMABAD – Pakistan passport has jumped five places in latest Henley & Partners index but it has still been ranked among the weakest passport in the world.
In this index, Pakistan passport stands at 98th place compared to previous year’s 103rd, rising by five places. The holders of Pakistani passport can get visa free access to 31 countries.
According to the latest global report, Pakistan shares this spot with Yemen. Below Pakistan in the rankings are Iraq (99th), Syria (100th), and Afghanistan (101st).
Countries ranked higher than Pakistan include Somalia in the 97th position, Nepal at 96th, and Bangladesh at 84th. Meanwhile, the passports of Palestine, North Korea, and Eritrea share the 94th spot.
India’s passport holds the 80th position, China’s is ranked 59th, and Iran’s passport is 92nd. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, is ranked 54th, which is relatively stronger compared to other Middle Eastern nations.

Strongest Passports in World
This ranking system is based on the number of countries that passport holders can access without a visa, with Japan, South Korea, and Singapore occupying the top spots as the world’s most powerful passports.
According to the Henley Passport Index for January to June 2026, Singapore passport holders can travel visa-free to 192 countries, setting a new benchmark for global mobility.
The second spot for the world’s most powerful passports is shared by two Asian nations, Japan and South Korea. With these passports, citizens can access 188 countries without a visa, making them two of the most travel-friendly in the world.
In third place are the passports of Denmark, Luxembourg, Sweden, Spain, and Switzerland, with holders enjoying visa-free access to 186 countries. These European nations continue to maintain strong global mobility rankings.
Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Norway, Finland, Greece, and the Netherlands have secured the fourth spot, with their passports allowing visa-free travel to 185 countries.
The fifth position is jointly held by Hungary, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the United Arab Emirates. These passports offer unrestricted access to 184 countries.
