PESHAWAR – As severe cold wave continues to grip the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government has revise school timings for post-winter holiday terms.
The education department issued a notification, announcing that the new school timings will come into effect after the winter holidays, starting from January 16.
Schools Timings Changed After Winter Vacation
According to the notification, all primary schools in the province’s plains will operate from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.
Meanwhile, middle, high, and higher secondary schools will function from 9:00 am to 2:20 pm.
The decision aims to protect students from the harsh cold weather while ensuring their academic schedules remain uninterrupted during the winter season.
Sindh School Timings Revised
Earlier, the Sindh government has announced revised school timings across the province to help students better manage the cold weather. The directive, issued by Sindh’s Education Minister Sardar Shah, prompted the Education Department to issue an official notice regarding the changes.
According to the notice, all public and private schools will now open at 9:00 AM. However, the school closing times will remain the same.
These adjusted timings will be in place starting Monday and will continue until January 26.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has increased the winter holidays for one week with schools reopening from January 19.
