A group of banned Balochistan Liberation Army has targeted a naval base, reports said as gunfire and several blasts have been reported from the region amid a surge in terror attacks.
Unverified reports claimed that BLA militants stormed naval air station, PNS Siddique in Turbat, but forces successfully thwarted the attack, killing several attackers.
Security forces deployed in high-security regions responded swiftly to the incident with retaliatory gunfire.
Commissioner Makran Division Saeed Imrani told a local publication. He said around five militants attempted to enter the naval base, but security forces engaged them, and it started gunfire.
Following the blasts and gunfire, Pakistan Navy, FC, and police teams have reached the site, while operation against the attackers continued.
The banned Baloch militant organization Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for attacks while ISPR is yet to respond to the development.
This is the second major attack in Balochistan in a week. Last week, the same Baloch terror group attacked the Gwadar Port Authority’s residential complex in Gwadar.
