ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have felicitated Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his victory in the presidential elections of Sri Lanka.

In his congratulatory message, the president said that Pakistan greatly values its ties with the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as both countries enjoy excellent cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.

He expressed the hope that bilateral relations between the two countries would further strengthen under leadership of Sri Lankan President-elect.

President Zardari also wished good health and continued prosperity for the leadership and people of Sri Lanka.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wished the President-elect every success, and said he looks forward to working with him for further strengthening of Pakistan-Sri Lanka relations.
