ISLAMABAD – Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday warned that if the Muslim world fails to unite and continues to pursue self-serving agendas, each country will eventually face consequences.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Asif strongly condemned Israeli actions, stating, “Israel is committing atrocities against Palestinian children. Its hands are stained with Palestinian blood, and it is actively involved in the destruction of Palestine.”

He emphasized that Iran is a neighboring and brotherly country with deep-rooted ties to Pakistan. “Israel has targeted Iran, Palestine and Yemen. If the Muslim world doesn’t unite and protect its collective interests, everyone’s turn will come,” he cautioned.

The defence minister lamented the military weakness of many Muslim nations and called for an urgent OIC meeting. He urged Muslim countries to develop a joint strategy to confront Israeli aggression.

“While children are being martyred in Palestine, the Muslim world remains largely silent. It’s the non-Muslims whose conscience is waking up,” he added, urging Muslim states with diplomatic ties to Israel to sever them.

Referring to Iran’s nuclear sites being targeted, he alleged that Israel was not acting alone and had full backing. “We need actions that show Islamic unity. When India attacked us, we defeated an enemy five times our size. The same resolve is needed now,” Asif declared.

On inflation, he acknowledged rising prices but pointed out that the rate of increase had slowed. “The stock market has hit 125,000 points. Those who wrote to the IMF urging them to deny Pakistan loans are to blame. It’s not right to centre all politics around one individual,” he concluded.
