LAHORE – Newly appointed Pakistan men’s cricket team head coach Mike Hesson has outlined his approach towards player selection and shared his vision for the national side, saying that team selection would not be based on players’ past reputation or experience.
“Past reputation or experience will not be the criteria for selection of the players,” said the head coach in a recent interview.
Mike Hesson emphasized that selections would now be made according to clearly defined roles within the squad, and every player would be expected to perform in line with the team’s overall strategy.
“My goal is to build a modern, successful team that plays exciting cricket,” said Hesson. He described his appointment as a golden opportunity and expressed eagerness to contribute to the team’s progress.
“I am confident in my ability to guide the team. We aim to play cricket that not only wins matches but also captivates the fans,” he added, while acknowledging the challenges ahead.
