ISLAMABAD – The state run national news agency, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and Azerbaijan’s AZERTAC entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen their cooperation in news sharing and exchange.
Two sides signed the agreement on the sidelines of the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum, which took place in Shusha, Azerbaijan, from July 20 to 23.
Mudassar Iqbal, Deputy Director and Head of Diplomatic and Global Affairs at APP, and Mr. Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of AZERTAC, were the signatories. Under this MOU, the two agencies will collaborate more closely by sharing news, photos, and videos, thus enhancing their joint media efforts.
This agreement is a significant development resulting from President Ilham Aliyev’s recent visit to Pakistan, where multiple agreements were made.
The partnership aims to strengthen bilateral relations and foster a better understanding between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. It includes provisions for increasing cooperation through professional exchanges and visits by staff members, as well as mutual support for each other’s correspondents and representatives in both countries.
