RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff; Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff; and the Armed Forces of Pakistan commemorated 27th martyrdom anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, paying tribute to his extraordinary courage, unwavering devotion, and supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
Pakistani military leadership honored Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed’s exceptional gallantry during 1999 Kargil conflict, where he displayed resolute leadership and remarkable bravery while defending the motherland against overwhelming odds.
Leading his troops from the front with exceptional determination, Captain Sher Khan embraced martyrdom in keeping with the highest traditions of the Pakistan Army. His valor and selfless service earned him the nation’s highest military award, the Nishan-e-Haider, and secured his place among Pakistan’s most revered war heroes.
Armed Forces said his immortal sacrifice continues to inspire generations of Pakistanis and serves as a timeless symbol of courage, patriotism, and steadfast commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
Reaffirming their enduring resolve, the military leadership pledged to uphold the ideals and values for which Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed laid down his life, emphasizing that his legacy of honor, valor, and sacrifice will continue to endure in the nation’s history.
