ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s top military leadership has delivered a powerful Independence Day message, paying tribute to the nation’s founders, martyrs and defenders while declaring an unwavering resolve to protect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
On the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff; and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, extended heartfelt greetings to the nation on behalf of the Armed Forces.
The military leadership used the historic occasion to remember Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founding fathers and all those whose sacrifices turned the dream of an independent Pakistan into reality.
The message stresssed that the vision, courage and determination of Pakistan’s founders remain a guiding light for the nation, urging citizens to preserve the principles that shaped the country’s creation.
Armed Forces also paid solemn tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan, acknowledging the sacrifices of veterans, law enforcement personnel and citizens who have served the country. Their selfless contributions, the message said, have strengthened Pakistan’s resilience and helped safeguard its independence, security and national interests.
In a strong reaffirmation of their national duty, the Armed Forces declared that they would remain steadfast in defending Pakistan against all threats to its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The military leadership also reiterated its commitment to upholding the Constitution and fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to the Armed Forces by the people of Pakistan.
Calling national unity the country’s greatest strength, the message urged Pakistanis to turn the Independence Day spirit into a renewed commitment to Faith, Unity and Discipline.
Armed Forces called for greater national cohesion, tolerance and collective responsibility, stressing that peace and stability are essential for Pakistan to achieve sustained development and prosperity.
