ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday announced the introduction of a resolution in response to the American resolution regarding general elections.
Speaking in the National Assembly, Ishaq Dar said that they would introduce a counter-resolution against the American resolution. He stated that they have taken notice and have prepared a draft resolution, which will be shared with everyone.
Defense Minister said, “It’s an election year in the US, and PTI has had a resolution passed against Pakistan.”
He further said that Pakistan has rejected the American resolution, and the Foreign Office has given an immediate response to it. The American Congress’s resolution is baseless.
Ishaq Dar mentioned that Pakistan has clearly stated its position on Gaza and has condemned Israel by name. He claimed that no other country has condemned Israel with such courage. He emphasized that Pakistan will vigorously represent issues like Kashmir, Gaza, and other matters on international stage.
A day earlier, the US House of Representatives passed a non-binding resolution by 368 votes to 7, calling for an independent and impartial investigation into the alleged interference and irregularities in the February 8 elections.
In response to the American resolution, the Foreign Office said that Pakistan has noted the resolution passed by the US House of Representatives.
However, the timing and circumstances of the resolution’s approval do not align with the positive dynamics of bilateral relations.
