Pakistan Announces Closure Of Airspace Shared With India For Two Days

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has announced the temporary closure of its airspace shared with India on October 28 and 29 for operational and security management.

According to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), the airspace will remain closed from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on both days. The restriction will affect several routes within the Lahore and Karachi Flight Information Regions (FIR).

All airlines and aviation operators have been advised to take precautionary measures and plan their flight schedules accordingly.

Reports said the three-hour daily closure is aimed at ensuring effective management of air traffic security and operational coordination during the period.

Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Flights until November 24

Earlier this month, Pakistan has prolonged the closure of its airspace to Indian aircraft for another month, with restrictions now in place until November 24, according to a notice to airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority.

As per the directive, Indian-registered aircraft—both civilian and military—remain barred from using Pakistani airspace. The ban also applies to aircraft owned or leased by Indian airlines.

The airspace restriction, effective from October 15 to November 24, was introduced amid ongoing diplomatic and security tensions between the two neighboring countries.

Pakistan first imposed the airspace closure in April this year, and it has been extended multiple times since then.
