ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a dinner to welcome dignitaries at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in capital city Islamabad. The summit includes member states like China, India, Russia, and Iran, with Pakistan serving as the current chair.

Notably, India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar attended, marking his first visit to Pakistan in nearly a decade. Jaishankar confirmed he would not discuss bilateral relations during the summit.

Leaders from several countries, including Chinese Premier Li Qiang, also attended. The summit’s main activities will take place on Wednesday at the Jinnah Convention Centre, featuring opening remarks from PM Shehbaz, statements from member states, and a document-signing ceremony.

The event aims to enhance regional cooperation and address geopolitical challenges.
