DI Khan
A meeting of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Health Tuesday expressed dismay over the performance of DI Khan hospital and said that provision of needed medical facilities to ailing community would be ensured. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sumaira Shams and attended by MPAs including, Waqar Ahmad, Dr. Asia Assad, Liaqat Ali Khan and Zahoor Khan besides Secretary Health, Syed Farooq Jamil, and representatives of Abbottabad, DI Khan teaching hospitals.
On the occasion, Director DI Khan Hospital informed the meeting about performance of the hospital. The meeting expressed dismay over the performance and injudicious use of public money. Participants of the meeting were annoyed over the non-functional surgical ventilators in the hospital and directed hospital authorities to submit report within one month.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Sumaira Shams observed that responsible authorities of DI Khan have failed to provide relief to people. Government was mandated by the people and it is the responsibility on next month adding that due resources will be allocated for implementation of the plan.
He said that futile and short term attempts for resolution of these issues will no longer be entertained. Chief minister was informed that labour work on construction of drains for resolution of standing water at Suri Pul area will be initiated in September this year for which the PC1 of the project has been finalized.
