The airport sources said 15 flights bound for Jeddah, Riyadh, the United Arab Emirates and other destinations were cancelled at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.
The cancellations also affected other major airports across the country. A total of 19 flights were cancelled at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, while 14 flights were cancelled at Islamabad International Airport.
Four flights were cancelled at Faisalabad Airport, four at Peshawar Airport, five at Multan Airport and two at Sialkot Airport.
The cancellations have disrupted international air travel and caused considerable inconvenience to passengers, many of whom are facing uncertainty over their travel plans.
The airport sources said domestic and international airlines operating from Lahore and other airports were repeatedly revising their flight schedules due to the prevailing situation.
The frequent changes in flight schedules have further added to passengers’ difficulties, with travellers facing delays and cancellations and uncertainty over the status of their flights.
The passengers have been advised to contact their respective airlines and confirm the latest status of their flights before travelling to the airport.
The disruption comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region, which have affected air operations and flight schedules to and from several destinations.
The arport authorities and airlines are continuing to monitor the situation, while further changes to flight schedules are possible depending on developments in the region.
