PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government announced initiative to provide 1.2Lac deserving families with 2-kilowatt solar systems. Each system comes complete with inverters and all essential equipment, giving households a chance to finally enjoy reliable, clean electricity.
Each solar system is valued at Rs2.55-3Lac, with total project cost reaching Rs13 billion, fully funded by the government. The ambitious project targets Bajaur, Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai, Mohmand, North, and South Waziristan, bringing clean, reliable energy to thousands of households that previously lacked access.

Refundable Option: Families can pay Rs8,300 per month over 36 months.
Non-Refundable Option: Absolutely no payment required, making solar energy truly accessible for the most vulnerable.
The implementation of the solar project will follow plan to ensure efficiency and transparency. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will be responsible for selecting the eligible beneficiaries, ensuring that the solar systems reach the most deserving households.
Bank of Khyber will handle selection of vendors, overseeing procurement and supply of the solar equipment. Technical support for installation, maintenance, and monitoring will be provided by PADO, ensuring that each system functions optimally. The entire project will operate under the financial model of the Bank of Khyber, which will streamline funding, payments, and project management, guaranteeing smooth execution across all targeted districts.
