Over 1,000 traffic police personnel will perform duty during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in Lahore, it has been learnt on Sunday.
According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Mustansar Feroze, 20 forklifts and three breakdowns have also been deployed on the routes and roads adjacent to Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
The cricket fans, coming to see the match, will be able to park their vehicles at Government College Gulberg, Liberty Parking and Lahore Development Plaza (LDA) Plaza.
“Foolproof traffic arrangements have been made from the hotel to Gaddafi Stadium,” the CTO said.
“Roads will be closed for minimum time on arrival and departure of the teams,” he added.
“As soon as the teams pass, all diversions will be opened for traffic. No road will be closed permanently,” he stated.
“Except for the arrival and departure of teams on Mall Road, Jail Road, and Canal Road, traffic will continue as usual,” he declared and added that the traffic would move normally on Ferozepur Road and Main Boulevard Gulberg Road.
The cricket fans coming from Mall Road, Jail Road or Canal Road can park their vehicles at Government College for Boys from its Ferozepur Road gate.
The cricket fans coming from Thokar Niaz Baig will be able to park their vehicles at Government College for Boys from Kalma Underpass.
Those coming to see the match from Cantt, Defence, and Cavalry can park their vehicles at Hussain Chowk, Liberty Parking and Sunfort Hotel Parking from Firdous Market.
Those coming from Kasur, Kahana, and Model Town will be able to park their vehicles at the Government College along with Ferozepur Main Gate and Central Park. Those coming on foot will be able to enter the stadium from Cricket FIFA Gate, Liberty and Government College.“Citizens and the cricket fans will not have any traffic problems. Citizens will be kept informed about the traffic flow through Rasta App and Rasta FM 88.6,” the CTO said.
