The outgoing Vice Chancellor (VC) of National University of Medical Sciences(NUMS) Lt Gen Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed (Retd) has ex-pressed his gratitude to faculty members for sup-porting him to realize his life- passion to play a pioneering role in the establishment of NUMS and urged them to continue its mission to come to the expectations of the nation.
In his brief farewell address to faculty and employ-ees of National University of Medical Sciences on Wednesday , he especially praised Pro Vice Chancellor Academics Maj Gen Saleem Ahmad Khan(Retd), Pro Vice Chancellor Admn Maj Gen Syed Ammar Reza Hamdani (Retd) and heads ,adding, without their support the university would not have achieved what it did within six years of its creation in 2015.
He thanked the Army Establishment for affording him an opportunity to set up NUMS.
“I am amazed over what we achieved together, saying, he has, had an opportunity to work with one of the finest teams in the educational field.
But NUMS still has to go far to achieve excellence in research and play a leading role in progress of the country,” said VC who has put in 45 years of public service while serving in different challenging posi-tions during his illustrious career.
He urged the faculty to transfer their knowledge, experience and social assets to next generations before bowing out from their jobs.
