ISLAMABAD – A solemn awards ceremony was held to honor Pakistan Army officers, soldiers, and the families of martyrs for their bravery and sacrifices. Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to their service and reaffirmed a firm national resolve that the fight against terrorism will continue with unity until lasting peace and stability are achieved.

Pakistan Army’s ghazis, officers, and soldiers were honored for their exceptional bravery, sacrifices, and outstanding service to the nation. During the ceremony, a total of 50 Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-e-Basalat were awarded to officers and soldiers who demonstrated extraordinary valor in various operations and distinguished service in the line of duty. The event also carried deep emotional significance as the families of martyrs received posthumous awards on behalf of their loved ones, accepting them with pride, dignity, and solemn respect, reflecting the nation’s enduring gratitude toward its fallen heroes.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, while addressing the ceremony, paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs and veterans, stating that martyrs and ghazis are the everlasting pride of the nation and their honor and sacrifice are a sacred trust for every Pakistani. He emphasized that the peace, stability, and security of the country are the result of the supreme sacrifices and unwavering dedication of these brave individuals, and he further praised the resilience, dignity, and unwavering resolve of the families of martyrs, noting that their sacrifices can never be fully repaid.
He also appreciated the operational readiness and professionalism of the Pakistan Army and all law enforcement agencies, including police, Frontier Corps, and Rangers, for their continuous efforts against terrorism. Reaffirming national resolve, he stated that the fight against terrorism will continue with full unity and determination until lasting peace, stability, and security are achieved across the country, and he commended the ongoing successful intelligence-based operations in different regions.
The ceremony was held at a time when Pakistan’s security forces are actively engaged in intensified counter-terrorism operations, particularly in the merged tribal districts and Balochistan, targeting terrorist networks through coordinated intelligence-based actions. Officials described the awards as a strong boost to the morale of frontline personnel and a recognition of their sacrifices in ensuring national security under extremely challenging conditions.
The event shows Pakistan’s broader counter-terrorism strategy, including framework of ongoing national efforts such as Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, emphasizing coordinated action among all military and law enforcement institutions under a unified command structure. Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership role as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces was highlighted as a symbol of enhanced coordination among the armed forces, police, FC, and Rangers in combating terrorism more effectively.
