Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari Sunday continued his tirade against his one time ally Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) saying they were contesting elections to save their skin adding the PTI was doing so to ensure release of its Supremo.

“One person is desperate to contest elections in a bid to get rid of jail. Another person wants to take part in polls to avert arrest.” Bilawal said in an obvious reference to Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan while addressing PPP rally in Kohat division.

Bilawal claimed on the contrary he was taking part in the polls only with the aim to resolve the problems being faced by the masses adding PPP does not represent the elite as it is “representative of the workers and poor of the country.

“Masses are still standing by the PPP and the party leadership will continue to maintain its connection with the people”. The PPP chairman said making it clear that his party was geared up for the upcoming elections, irrespective of whether other political parties were ready or not.

Bilawal also accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) of striving to roll back the 18th Amendment in a bid to curtail the autonomy of the provinces.

Expressing optimism that PPP would emerge triumphant in the February 8 general elections and would form the government, he said we would ensure that the masses get their rights and economic prosperity returns the country.

“We will ensure to create employment opportunities for our people worldwide. We will also make all-out efforts to provide the masses with their fundamental rights and rid them of the unprecedented price hike”, Bilawal announced.

He said the PPP did not represent the elite class but was the representative of the workers and poor of the country. “We will bury the traditional politics of division and hatred which the elder politicians have been doing till now”, former foreign minister maintained.

Bilawal said he was warned against holding party conventions in KP amid security threat alerts yet the party workers assured say they were neither scared nor they would surrender before terrorism saying it was testimony to the fact that PPP workers were active and the party’s entity was very much existing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Referring to the PPP founder and former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s death sentence reference, Bilawal said he was expecting that the truth would be told to the entire world. “We hope that the entire nation will be told as to why the leader of the Muslim world was hanged,” he said.
