Orientation workshop for Ehsaas Scholarship organized

Awareness workshop on Ehsaas and Graduate scholarship program was organized at the Women University Multan in which more than 400 students participated.

Assistant Registrar Ms. Saira Nasir while giving a briefing said that Ehsas Undergraduate scholarship program is the largest under graduate scholarship program in the history of Pakistan. This is the first need and merit based scholarship program.

Under this program, 50,000 students from low-income families are awarded scholarships each year to study in four to five-year undergraduate programs.

Over the next 4 years, 200,000 undergraduate scholarships will be awarded on the basis of need and merit. She said 50% of the scholarships are reserved for female students. A total budget of Rs. 24 billion has been allocated for the implementation of this 4 year program. Scholarships offered under this program include a 100% tuition fee and a monthly stipend of Rs. 4,000 /-per month. The program provides financial support to low-income students studying in four to five-year undergraduate programs at 135 public sector universities recognized by the HEC across the country.—PR
