Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar has said that the opposition lawmakers under PDM alliance have neither submitted their resignations, nor will they stage a long march. The opposition will also fail to table no confidence motion, he added.

The governor said that the tradition of creating hurdles for those who want to set the country on the road to progress and prosperity should end now. He said this while talking to the media after addressing a seminar on health at a local hotel on Thursday.
The continuity of democracy is essential for a country’s development, prosperity and stability. No system can survive in Pakistan except democracy and the public also supports the continuity of democracy, he maintained.

Replying to a question, the Punjab governor said that regardless of PDM’s claims, elections will be held in 2023. He maintained that Imran Khan will fulfill his constitutional term as the Prime Minister. Opposition should accept the mandate of the masses given to PTI. Those who try to destabilize the government are not well-wishers of the country. Addressing the event, the Governor said that the doctors who fought on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic were the heroes of the nation and their services would always be remembered. He said that it is the government’s top priority to ensure the provision of health facilities to the people, adding he said that issuance of Health Insaaf Card by the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is a historic project due to which no poor citizen will be deprived of basic health facilities.

Ch Sarwar said that the Punjab government is launching a typhoid vaccination campaign from February 1. He maintained that it is the responsibility of all those serving in the health sector to ensure the provision of health facilities to each and every citizen. It is our joint responsibility to make Pakistan healthy, strong and prosperous, he added.
