Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday said unfortunately some of the opposition parties tried to do politics over the recent unpleasant incident and to worsen the situation instead of solving the matter.

The chief minister said in his statement that the negative role of the opposition parties is condemnable and their wicked intentions to add fuel to the fire have badly failed.

Usman Buzdar said the opposition tried to divide the nation when it needed unity, and this irresponsible and negative behavior will be remembered in history in bad words.

He said no Muslim can tolerate blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who was sent as a blessing for all worlds. The dignity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) cannot be described in words, Usman Buzdar added.

Meanwhile, the balloting of the LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments project was held at CM’s Office with Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar in the chair.

The CM pressed the computer button for balloting the 13,277 applications for the allotments of 2000 apartments.

Provincial Ministers Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Murad Raas, SACM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Sadia Sohail MPA, Vice Chairman LDA SM Imran, Chief Secretary, DG LDA, DG PITB, Secretary Information and others were also present.

The CM stated that successful applicants will approach Punjab Bank, or its nominated banks, for letters of comfort.

The value of an apartment is around 27 lakh rupees and the successful candidates can also submit a separate application for the subsidy to NAPHDA.

The successful candidates will submit a ten per cent down payment while others will deposit a 21 per cent down payment, he said.

The rest of the payment will be paid in an easy monthly instalment after occupying the apartment.

The CM expressed the satisfaction that the dream of occupying an own house is being materialized as 2000 apartments will be allotted to LDA, federal and provincial government employees in the first phase.

The submission of more than 13000 applications is a huge public trust over this project which has been designed on a no-profit, no-loss basis, he added.

The apartments will be handed over to allottees in a short period and the building standard will be better than any other private housing scheme. 60 per cent area has been reserved for the green belt, parks, footpaths and roads.

There will be a separate parking facility for every apartment block along with a commercial area, he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairperson Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission Waseem Akhtar Ramay called on CM Usman Buzdar and briefed about the steps taken for the expatriates Pakistanis’ welfare.

The CM approved the establishment of Sahulat Markaz of Board of Revenue at OPC head office in GOR-I and appreciated the enormous work done to facilitate the applicants.

Similarly, a consultative unit will also be established at the Commission to assist in legal and revenue matters, the CM added and directed to send the Summary for the promulgation of an Ordinance to constitute OPC special courts at the earliest.

On the other hand, MPA Syed Iftikhar Gillani called on CM Usman Buzdar and discussed matters of mutual interests. He appreciated the strong stance of CM Usman Buzdar on the issue of the south Punjab secretariat.

The CM was playing a historic role for the rights of south Punjab and his contribution in the development of backward areas is commendable, he added.
