Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar on Saturday said that the opposition has failed inside the Parliament and it will face failure outside the Parliament as well.
“The opposition who attempted to hamper legislation regarding FATF stand exposed and it should mind that public support is with the government not with the opposition.”
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar wa talking with Federal Interior Minister Brigadier (r) Ijaz Shah who called on him at Governor’s House here on Saturday.
The governor said that the government will not go anywhere before completing its constitutional term.
Both the leaders discussed various political and national matters.
Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab governor said that the PTI has no danger from the opposition’s APCs and neither will let them pressurize the government. He said that the government will continue to move forward its mission to serve the public.
The Punjab governor said that Prime Minister Imran Khan only talks about safeguarding national interests whereas the opposition parties are pursuing their own political and personal interests. Completing a 5-year term is our democratic and constitutional right. He said the general elections will be held in 2023 and the opposition should wait for elections rather than resorting to protests.
The governor said that accountability is a must for the progress and development of Pakistan and completing legislation regarding FATF is a great achievement of the PTI government.
Federal Interior Minister Brig (r) Ejaz Shah said that the PTI government is ensuring transparent and indiscriminate accountability. He said the first time we are introducing reforms in public institutions. He said the public has given us a five-year mandate and we will complete our term.
HED to monitor implementation of SOPs
Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz said that the Higher Education Department (HED) would ensure implementation of SOPs in Colleges and universities and Directions have been issued to all departments concerned and administrations of education institutions.
To monitor the situation, HED has introduced a WhatsApp number for common public and parents. They can share proof of violation of SOPs on WhatsApp number 03082033355. On receiving such information, HED Offices will visit the concerned educational institution. If they found violation, strict action would be taken against the administration of that institution. He appealed common public, parents and students to share freely the information regarding violations of SOPs through WhatsApp. He insured that the identity of the complaints will not be revealed.
