RAWALPINDI – Security forces have killed nine terrorists in intelligence-based operations carried out in different areas of Balochistan.
The operations were conducted under Operation Raddul Fitna 3 as security forces continued actions against militants in the province.
An intelligence-based operation was conducted in a mountainous area between Ziarat and Harnai after information was received about the presence of militants. Security personnel surrounded a suspected militant hideout and carried out an effective strike, killing eight militants and destroying the hideout.
In another operation in Hajika village in Surab district, security forces killed one militant. Forces established an effective cordon between Dasht Katai and Hajika and tracked the movement of the militants before launching the operation.
The sources said ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, a walkie-talkie, a motorcycle and other material were recovered from the militants.
Security forces reiterated their resolve to continue operations in Balochistan without interruption until terrorism is eliminated and lasting peace is established in the province.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the security forces for successful operation against terrorists.
A day earlier, security forces had also conducted operations in Killi Zaik, where two militants were killed and three others wounded. One of the militants killed was identified as Mushtaq Ahmed alias Koh Yar. Ammunition, magazines, hand grenades and explosive material were recovered from the militants.
