A delegation led by Manchester Lord Mayor Abid Latif Chohan called on Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Vice Chairperson Ch Waseem Akhtar in his office on Friday.
Matters pertaining to mutual understanding, resolution of the problems of overseas Pakistanis and the means to promote investment in Pakistan were discussed in a meeting. The OPC vice chairperson while welcoming the delegation said that this visit has not only helped in discussing the issues and challenges faced by Pakistani community living abroad but has also opened new ways for encouraging the foreign investors to invest in Pakistan.
The steps taken by Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan are exemplary and commendable which is the reason why he has won the hearts of Pakistani expatriates. Pakistani Diaspora has shown their confidence over the dynamic leadership of Imran Khan and the increase in foreign investment is proof of it. Pakistan will soon be economically stable.
Pakistan like all other countries is also facing pandemic of coronavirus but federal as well as the provincial government is committed to fight this together. Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Ahmed Buzdar are taking every step to control this virus, create awareness among the public and taking precautionary measures at government’s level, he added. He appealed to the delegation to encourage the overseas Pakistani doctors to help their homeland during this testing time.
Overseas Pakistanis Commission Commissioner Passand Khan Buledi while briefing the delegation regarding the performance of the commission said, ‘We are using information technology to improve the work efficiency of the commission’.
