Vice Chairperson Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Ch. Waseem Akhtar called on Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan and discussed the matters of mutual understanding with her. Ch. Waseem gave a detailed briefing regarding the steps taken by the commission for the provision of relief to the overseas Pakistanis
. Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Information while lauding the efforts of OPC said that the efforts done by Vice Chairperson OPC and his team for early resolution of the complaints of Overseas Pakistanis are commendable.
The role of media was also discussed in the meeting and how media can play positive role in disseminating soft image of the country abroad.
Vice Chairperson Overseas Pakistanis Commission apprised the Special Assistant to Chief Minister that Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Ahmed Buzdar has tasked him to work with his social media team so that Overseas Pakistanis can get the information through social media without any delay.
Vice Chairperson told Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan that OPC is all set to launch OPC App which will help connecting Overseas Pakistanis with different housing societies of Punjab and they will be able to access the status of their complaints through the app.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Ahmed Buzdar has already given necessary directions to give final shape to the app.
