Despite many hurdles and an unstable path, the PTI-led Punjab Government has completed its one year. There is no denying the fact that Punjab under the leadership of Usman Buzdar is, to a great extent, different from that under the leadership of former Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The PTI-led Punjab Government has made remarkable gains in different sectors. With the aim to bring qualitative change in the people’s life, the Government is bent upon paying special attention to the needs of people and many steps have been taken in this regard. The introduction of Sehat Insaf Card to provide standard health facilities to people living in abject poverty; establishment of Women Hostel Authority and Day Care Centres to facilitate the working women, Rural Accessibility Program for better connectivity in rural areas and to accelerate the growth of agricultural production etc all are testaments that welfare of masses is the top priority of the government.
Likewise, the government has also initiated a score of mega projects for the socio-economic development of the people of the province. The idea to establish shelter homes to provide lodging facility to the poor, needy and homeless citizens; launch of Punjab Ehsas Program to provide necessary socio-economic protection to the disfranchised sections of society all are ample proof of the government’s firm resolve to put the country on the right track.
