LAHORE – The Portions of the statement recorded before a magistrate by one of the two foreign women allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted in Lahore have surfaced, detailing the allegations she made regarding the incident.
Astrid Gabriela Robinson, a 40-year-old woman from Spain, told the magistrate that her experience was similar to that of the other foreign complainant, Stephanie.
In her affidavit, Robinson alleged that on the first night of their stay at a house, four armed men entered the premises, restrained them and subjected them to violence. She claimed one of the suspects, dressed in black, inappropriately touched her and repeatedly punched her in the face.
She further alleged that a man identified as Raza Dar later questioned her about a laptop and money. Robinson said she informed him that both items were inside a green bag. She claimed that Stephanie was then brought back into the room, where the suspects continued questioning both women about passwords and the computer.
According to the statement, Robinson alleged that one of the suspects struck her on the head with the butt of a pistol. She also claimed that another man, who spoke fluent English, threatened that they would not be allowed to leave alive if they failed to hand over money.
Robinson further alleged that an elderly man carrying a rifle instructed two suspects to remain with her. She claimed the men repeatedly pressured her into sexual acts despite her repeated refusals. According to her statement, she was later taken to another floor by one of the suspects, where she alleged she was forcibly undressed, physically assaulted and sexually assaulted multiple times.
The foreign national told the magistrate that the alleged assault stopped after she screamed for help, after which she was allowed to get dressed and was taken back to the room where the others were present.
Police are investigating the case, and the allegations contained in the complainant’s statement have yet to be tested in court. The accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty through due process of law.
