Omer Associates and Arham Cricket Club teams reached the semi-finals of the Naya Nazimabad Ramadan Corporate Cup Cricket Tournament (NNRCCCT) Real Time Property and Eshal Falcon Associates lost. At Naya Nazimabad Cricket Stadium, Omer Associates defeated Real Time Property by 57 runs. Batting first, Omer Associates scored 178 for the loss of six wickets.
Captain Sarfraz Ahmed remained prominent by scoring 42 runs. Sohail Akhtar (24), Azam Khan (24), Umar Akmal (21) and Qasim Akram (21) were all out and Badruddin took two wickets. In reply, the Real Time Property team was bowled out for 121 in the 19th over.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Naqash scored 42 runs. Fast bowler Mohammad Irfan took four wickets, Mohammad Asghar three, Fahim Ashraf two and Qasim Akram one. At the end of the match, Chief guest Imran Maniar, Managing Director, Sui Southern Gas, distributed prizes among the players. Muhammad Irfan was awarded Man of the Match. Chairman Naya Nazimabad Arif Habib, businessman Majeed Aziz, president of Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana Syed Muhammad Talha, Tournament Director Anees Younis and others were also present on the occasion. Imran Maniar said that holding of Ramadan cricket tournament is welcome. Naya talent emerges from such competitions. The sports facilities in Naya Nazimabad are excellent. He said that Sui Southern Gas would soon organize sports events in association with Naya Nazimabad. In the second match, Kamran Akmal’s team lost to Eshal Falcon Arham Cricket Club by six wickets. Batting first, Eshal Falcon Associates were bowled out for 155 in 20 overs.
Kamran Akmal scored 69 runs off 51 balls with the help of two sixes and eight fours. Muhammad Waheed scored 31 runs. The rest of the batsmen could not enter the double digits. Waleed Azeem got three wickets and Shahzeb Bhatti got two wickets.
Arham CC achieved the target at a loss of four wickets before four balls. Imran Shah scored 65 and Suleiman Saleem scored 51. Emad Butt, Ahmed Danial and Hussain Talat took one wicket each.
