Usman Khan, a resident of Gulbarg Town, Karachi, has raised his concerns about the ongoing water supply disruptions in his area. His formal complaint to the provincial ombudsman regarding the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) led to a swift investigation by Regional Director Karachi Central District, Nazir Ahmad Qidwai.

The investigation revealed that the water supply to Gulbarg Town had been unreliable, causing severe hardships for Usman Khan and other residents. The case was presented before the provincial ombudsman, Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, who took decisive action.

In his ruling, Dr. Sohail Rajput directed the KWSC to resolve the water supply issue immediately and ensure uninterrupted service for the area’s residents. He emphasized that providing basic amenities like water must be a top priority for the government and its related institutions. “Neglecting fundamental necessities such as water will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” stated the ombudsman in his decision. The KWSC has been instructed to not only restore regular water supply in Gulbarg Town but also prevent similar disruptions from happening in the future.

This decision marks a significant step toward addressing citizens’ concerns, highlighting that public complaints are taken seriously and addressed promptly by the provincial ombudsman. The ruling reinforces the importance of government accountability in ensuring access to essential services like water, underscoring that issues impacting residents’ daily lives will be met with immediate corrective actions.
