The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) extended deep condolences to the government and people of Indonesia, commiserating the loss of several lives and injury of thousands and massive destruction after Tropical Cyclone Seroja severely hit large portions of the country.
Secretary General Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen expressed his sincere condolences to the bereaved families of the victims, and offered his wishes for swift recovery to those wounded.
He made an urgent appeal to the Member States, donors, humanitarian and financial institutions across the Muslim world to furnish all forms of assistance to Indonesia in response to this humanitarian disaster.—PR
