The National Skills University Islamabad (NSU), an International Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, will observe World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) 2023. Since 2014, this day has been celebrated every year on the 15th of July with a unique theme. This year’s WYSD theme is “Skilling Teachers, Trainers, and Youth for a Transformative Future.” According to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, “Equipping young people with quality education, training, and skills is essential. This World Youth Skills Day reminds us that teachers stand at the forefront of this great global effort.” The first-ever skills university in the public sector in the federal setup in Pakistan was established in 2018. With the arrival of the Founding Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, the university initiated an official celebration of this day in July 2020. According to the Vice Chancellor, we will be celebrating this day, aligning with the theme chosen for this year. All faculty, trainers, and students will discuss the success stories of their best practices in providing skills education .
