Notorious Lyari gang member arrested in joint operation

Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and police conducted a joint operation based on intelligence reports, arresting Amir aliasMota, a highly sought-after member of the Lyari gang, from Saddar Town. Amir is accused of involvement in target killings, ethnically motivated murders, police shootouts, drug trafficking, multiple homicides and injuries during robberies, and extortion.

Illegal weapons and ammunition used in various crimes were also seized from his possession. According to details, Amir joined the Lyari Gang War under the command of SajidGolimar in 2011 and later became part of JamilChanga’s group in 2021.

Alongside his associates, Amir was involved in the abduction and murder of over 20 innocent citizens, disposing of their bodies in different areas.

During initial investigations, Amir confessed to kidnapping and murdering more than 12 individuals from rival groups, drug trafficking, extortion, several police shootouts, and involvement in over 100 robberies. He further revealed his involvement in the September 9, 2023, robbery near Capri Cinema on M. A. Jinnah Road, where he, along with accomplice JunaidBaloch, shot and killed Coast Guard soldier Muhammad Bilal Ali.

JunaidBaloch had already been apprehended, while Amir remained at large. Multiple cases are registered against him at various police stations, including Preedy and Pak Colony. The arrested suspect, along with the recovered weapons and ammunition, has been handed over to the police for further legal action.
